Thursday, May 28, 2009 @ 6:30pm-midnight (approximately)
Potluck Dairy Dinner & Learning
NEW LOCATION: Studio 34, 4522 Baltimore Avenue

In the spirit of our ancestors, we aim to experience moments of revelation through study as we celebrate Z'man Matan Torateinu, the time of the receiving of the Torah.

Our first teaching will be on "Mussar and Jewish Ethics" with Elliot Ratzman, a teacher of mussar and philosophy.  Mussar was a movement of Jewish ethical behavior, aimed at self-improvement through Jewish concepts and texts.  Come and learn!

As is the Kol Tzedek custom, we invite you to be teachers as well as learners.  Please bring a favorite, text, poem, story to share/teach or a question you would like to discuss with the community.  Also, a dairy or parve dish is much appreciated!

Kol Tzedek's Mishpocha (Family) service is an opportunity for children and adults to pray together in community. The service is structured like a traditional Saturday morning service and includes a reading from the weekly torah portion, an interactive story, and lots of singing! This service is open to everyone and is especially suited for families with children between the ages of 2 and 6. An early lunch vegetarian potluck follows the service. Please bring a vegetarian dish to share and help KT reduce its carbon footprint--bring your own plate and silverware!

LGBT Programming Brainstorm
Interested in having more LGBT programming at Kol Tzedek?  We'd like to gather people who have ideas and/or are willing to help in some way throughout the year, to talk about what events we'd like to have.  Events could be educational, cultural, or social.  This doesn't mean joining a committee, just coming to one gathering to brainstorm ideas and see how we can make them happen.  Please contact Karen if you are interested - karenkohn00@hotmail.com.
