Kol Tzedek Seeks High Holiday Shaliach Tzibur

posted Apr 6, 2011 10:23 AM by Rabbi Lauren Grabelle Herrmann

High Holiday Shaliach Tzibur/Cantor

Kol Tzedek Reconstructionist Synagogue

Philadelphia, PA, www.kol-tzedek.org

Kol Tzedek, a vibrant, urban, growing Jewish community, seeks a dynamic and talented shaliach tzibur to co-lead our 5772 High Holiday Services with Rabbi Lauren Grabelle Hermann (RRC ’06).  Kol Tzedek’s High Holiday services are described by participants as traditional, participatory, joyful, and reflective.  Our holiday services are open to the public and draw in many seekers who bring intentionality to the experience of prayer, making for an exhilarating and meaningful High Holiday experience.

We seek a shaliach tzibur who can engage participants musically through congregational singing, chanting, traditional Hazzanut and “nigguning.”  We are searching for a candidate who can build energy and community through song and music.  Candidates must work well and collectively with lay-people, some of whom take on leadership roles in davenning throughout the holidays.  The shaliach tzibur will work closely with Rabbi Lauren.  Past High Holiday sh’lichei tzibur include Kelilah Miller and Ezra Weinberg.  Position includes Erev Rosh HaShanah (first night only), Rosh HaShanah Day 1 & 2, Kol Nidre, and Yom Kippur.  Please send resumes to Rabbi Lauren Grabelle Herrmann, rabbi@kol-tzedek.org and to religiouslife@kol-tzedek.org by April 20, 2011.  Compensation $3200-3500.
