posted Jun 11, 2011 2:37 AM by Rabbi Lauren Grabelle Herrmann

Torah School (Religious School) Teacher Positions Available

Kol Tzedek Synagogue, www.kol-tzedek.org

Kol Tzedek in West Philadelphia (www.kol-tzedek.org) is seeking dynamic, creative, and caring teachers for our thriving, progressive congregation and our growing religious school.   Kol Tzedek’s Torah School emphasizes hands-on, experiential, and interactive learning and seeks candidates with a deep love and commitment to Judaism. Familiarity with Reconstructionist Judaism and progressive education a plus!

Kol Tzedek’s Torah School meets approximately 3 times/month from 3pm-5:15pm. For this part of the program, we are seeking three teachers for our multi-age classrooms: one teacher who would specialize in Hebrew & Tefillah for our Bet & Gimmel (2cd and 3rd Grade) and our Dalet & Hey (4th and 5th) classes, one teacher who would specialize in Judaics for those same groups, and one teacher who can engage our Gan & Aleph (KG and 1st Grade) students in interactive and creative learning on Jewish holidays, values and cultural literacy.

Two Sunday teachers will also be employed to either lead Tefillah or interactive learning activities during our monthly Shabbat school from 10am-12pm.

Send resumes to Karen Guss, k.guss@yahoo.com and educationdirector@kol-tzedek.org.    Please indicate which position you are most interested in and if you have additional skills (i.e. music, drama) that you could bring to the position.  Pay is $80-90/session and $100 stipend for supervision time.
