P’tach Libi: A Siddur for Shabbat and Festival Mornings
Kol Tzedek is designing a new Saturday morning siddur that will be fully transliterated and interlinear, with full Hebrew liturgy, gender-inclusive and gender-neutral language for the davener, and options for large-print font. With gratitude to the Reconstructionist Press, the siddur will incorporate the beloved entire English translation of the Kol Haneshamah siddur, together with new queer, feminist, and BIPOC poetry, commentaries, and songs. The page will be laid out with dedicated attention to making it as visually accessible and legible as possible. It will have a 3-column format with English, Hebrew, and transliteration. The English font will be Atkinson Hyperlegible and the Hebrew will be Frank Ruhl in 16 point font. The siddur will be light-weight (7.5" wide by 9.5" high, and ¾ inches thick, about 200 pages), and with original artwork by Lizzie Sivitz of Nireh Or. The book will be bound and hardcover.
Would your community be interested in buying copies of this siddur? This will help us figure out how many copies to print and the exact cost. For individual copies, we will be selling the book at $36/book. For bulk orders over 50, we can sell the siddur for $20/book. For questions about siddur content, pricing of other quantities, or to share interest in joining the order, please contact admin@kol-tzedek.org.
