P’tach Libi: A Siddur for Shabbat and Festival Mornings

After years of dreams, details, design, and dotting our dageshim, we are so proud and excited to introduce you to P'tach Libi: A Siddur for Shabbat and Festival Mornings. This new prayerbook is the work of dozens of Kol Tzedek members, clergy and staff over the past five years. And its printing was made possible by two Kol Tzedek families in honor of their beloveds: Scott McCartney and his family in honor of Karen Blumenthal, z"l, and Shelley Rosenberg and her family in honor of Kenneth Ira Rosenberg, z"l.

It includes full Hebrew liturgy and full transliteration, as well as gender-inclusive and gender-neutral language for both the davener and the Divine. We incorporate non-binary Hebrew alongside traditional masculine and feminine options. With gratitude to the Reconstructionist Press, the siddur utilizes the entire English translation of the Kol Haneshama Siddur. The translation lives alongside contemporary Queer, Feminist, Black, Indigenous, Palestinian and POC poetry and songs. We strived to create a siddur is light-weight, legible and beautiful. The pages overflow with original artwork by Lizzie Sivitz of Nireh Or.

In addition to Kol Tzedek, this siddur has been purchased for use by ten havurot and synagogues around the US and in France. We're so honored to be praying out of these pages with other kindred communities.
